1910's - 1920's deep PURPLE ribbed silk fabric short coat jacket sz S/M

This wonderfully old coat is made of a medium weight silk, in aubergine purple hue, with prominent ribbed texture and beautiful sheen. A somewhat simple, yet elegant piece, this short coat features a wide-lapeled collar, and full length sleeves with faux turn-back cuffs. This coat is peppered throughout with self-covered buttons (these, unfortunately, show some moderate signs of wear and tear) at center front, cuffs, under bust, center back, and front hip area. Cinching in the upper waist area are little tab adornments, which are tacked down to hold the delicate gathers together (and at center back). The buttons at center front are just for show, as the actual closure featured are black metal snaps. This coat is half-lined with super warm and soft wool felt fabric, at the upper chest and back areas, and through sleeves. Sorry, no pockets. No labels or maker's marks present. Overall condition is excellent, with some mild to moderate signs of wear throughout, a couple of worn down spots, as well as a magenta picot trim (in rayon, circa 1920's) was added as a repair to the worn down cuff edges.
